Richard T. Kerins

is a member of the firm. Prior to 1987, Mr. Kerins was the Senior Court Officer to Hon. C. Raymond Radigan, the Nassau County Surrogate and a uniformed Court Officer in Nassau County Family Court. He was appointed Nassau County Public Administrator on September 1, 1999. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Deputy Public Administrator for 11 years. He oversaw the administration of thousands of estates.

Mr. Kerins received his Bachelor’s Degree from Long Island University, C W Post, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1982. He received his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law in 1987 having graduated in the top 15% of his class. In 1986 at St. John's, he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Trusts and Estates. He was admitted to practice in 1987.

In 1997, Mr. Kerins received the Merit Award from the Fraternal Order of Court Officers (FOCO), and in 1998, he received the Juris peritus Award for Legal Service from the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County (COBANC).

Mr. Kerins is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations. He has lectured in the area of Trusts and Estates for the New Your State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, Hofstra University School of Law and the National Business Institute.

Mr. Kerins is counsel to the Nassau County Public Administrator and has been since July 1, 2011.
